The new 100 mbps TEW-655BR3G from the famous netwoking company TRENDnet which is showcased at the Consumer Electronic Show, does not require any software or driver and the device don’t have any internal WWAN. The only thing you need to do sharing the device with multiple WiFi clients by slotting it to your Modem.
Unlike MiFi which supports WiFi b/g, the TRENDnet router supports WiFi 802.11n which helps to reduce the time to transfer files between the connected computers. Even the device offers many advanced features, the batterry life degrades the device. The device using Li-Ion battery which can power upto 1.5 hours only. It seems like that it won’t be a serious issue as the battery is user-replacable a few spares will make it in a longer untethered connectivity.
The device will be hitting the market in April 2010 for $99.99.
