
To maintain leadership in the computer marke, the manufacturers are coming with innovative concept and products each day. Dell proved that they are also not different from that by annoucing their new desktop PC ‘Optiplex 780 USFF‘, and the company claims that this is the world’s first smallest full functional mini PC with just 24 x 24 x 6.5cm dimensions.
But the dimensions indicate that this cannot be the smallest PC and it is slighlty larger than the Apple’s MAC Mini, even then the most dominating feature is that the power brick is provided inside the chasis for the Optiplex 780 USFF.
The system can be configured with Core 2, Duo dual-core Celeron,Pentium processors to boost up the speed and and to connect with the systems Q45 chipset and integrated with with GMA 4500 graphics, and got room for optical drive if necessary.
The system is providing 90% efficiency with its on board power supply, and has a 2.5″ hard drive, 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, Windows 7 with price tag of $624 for the base configuration with three years of on-site assistance.
The company is also releasing upgrade for its Optiplex 3 series by introducing 380 range to replace the excisting 360 line.The new features include Intel’s G41 chipset and opens the door to Core 2 Quad processors, and also DDR3 RAM clocked to 1066MHz . The pricing details is supposed to be same in $329 to $349 range.
